12 Tales Arts Workshops

12 Tales is an arts enrichment program sponsored by the Book Revue that brings participants into the art world as both readers and writers—observers and creators.

Program Overview

The program’s flagship offering is a series of monthly, 90-minute workshops designed to nurture individual creativity and collective goodwill—one story and one art piece at a time.

While structured as a year-long experience, 12 Tales is intentionally flexible and can be adapted for one-time events with professional groups, weekly gatherings for seniors, or other customized get-togethers to meet the needs of diverse communities.

The Workshop Experience

At the heart of the workshop experience is “studio time”—dedicated time for each artist to engage the theme and create their own personal artistic response in the format and medium of their choice.

The workshop closes with an informal gathering to share our newly created works and the stories they tell.

Easy Participation

Every session is a complete standalone experience, making it easy to attend once or return regularly. No preparation, materials, or purchases are required of participants—they can simply arrive and immerse themselves in a relaxed, welcoming creative environment.

The program is designed to be accessible to complete beginners as well as seasoned artists and writers.

Looking For an Arts Booth for Your Large-Scale Event ?

Find out how a 12 Tales—Take 5 booth can enliven your next event. Take 5 supplies the inspiration and materials for a 5-minute, hands-on creative experience. Each visitor to the booth creates their own art piece and, if they choose, displays their work in our ad-hoc gallery.

Like our 12 Tales workshop, the Take 5 booth sparks creativity by presenting attendees with a fun and engaging prompt. By providing a common theme for all, the experience blends individual creativity with communal engagement.

The Take 5 set-up can accommodate all ages and abilities. Designed to serve as an arts “pop-up” for public spaces and events, a Take 5 offering consists of two prompts, one for adults and one for children (though everyone is free to try both).  Set up at busy neighborhood “hot spots” and events, it’s free, fast, and inclusive—a premium family art experience.
